چکیده

The genus Pseudomonas has been reported to be a genetically and metabolically diverse bacterial group (Anzai et al., 2000; Kersters et al., 1996; Moore et al., 1996). Pseudomonas species of the rRNA-DNA similarity group I have been previously stated by Palleroni (1984) to form the genus Pseudomonas (sensu stricto) within the g subclass of the Proteobacteria. The formerly Pseudomonas species of the remaining four rRNA similarity groups (Palleroni, 1984) have been transferred into the other genera or formed the new taxa (Kersters et al., 1996). Among authentic Pseudomonas species P. stutzeri, formerly P. perfectomarina (Baumann et al., 1983; Rosselló-Mora et al., 1993), P. alcaligenes, P. pseudoalcaligenes (Palleroni, 1984), P. alcaliphila (Yumoto et al., 2001), and P. balearica (Bennasar et al., 1996) have been recovered from marine environments, mainly from seawater or sediment. Pseudomonas or Pseudomonas-like bacPseudomonas xanthomarina sp. nov., a novel bacterium isolated from marine ascidian

In the course of studying the taxonomic diversity of osmo-tolerant yeasts in Tropical Southeast Asia, many yeast strains have been isolated from traditional fermented food, fruits, and other natural habitats. Among our isolates several new species were predicted by 26S rDNA D1/D2 nucleotide sequence analysis and a cation-tolerance test using LiCl (Nagatsuka et al., 2002, 2005). Citeromyces siam...

Background and Objective: Horizontal transfer of integrons is the most successful transfer of antimicrobial resistance genes and the emergence of multi-drug resistance strains. The aim of the present study was to investigate the prevalence of class I and II integrons and their gene cassette assortments and antibiotic resistance profile in Escherichia coli strains isolated from diarrheal and uri...

Bacteria are fundamentally divided into two groups, Gram-positive and -negative, based on the chemical and physical properties of their cell walls. The classic Gram stain reaction permits the useful distinction between Gram-positive and -negative bacteria. Gram staining results largely affect the initial classifi cation of an unknown bacterium and the selection of follow-up identifi cation proc...

Probiotic bacteria are defi ned by FAO/WHO as “Live microorganisms which when administered in adequate amount confer a health benefi t” (Fuller, 1986; Reid et al., 2005). Probiotics are characterized by numerous antagonistic effects against the Gram-positive and Gram-negative pathogens. In addition, probiotics are also believed to reduce the risk of disorders from bacteria in the gastrointestin...
